Angels rely on Believers today to see God’s wisdom—not His power—manifested.

“They’ve already seen the power of God,” as my pastor (Richard Jordan) explains. “They were there when Jesus Christ was raised from the dead by the power of God. It was the angels who said, ‘He’s not here; He’s risen.’ There’s something about God’s wisdom, though, that we’re to manifest to them and, folks, the issue today is not demonstrating God’s power; it’s demonstrating His wisdom.”

From Ezekiel 28:3, we know Satan’s boast to the angels, from the very outset of his rebellion, was that he was smarter than God.

“He couldn’t say he was more powerful than God or they’d have laughed him off the block, but he argued, ‘Might doesn’t make right,’ ” says Jordan. “His argument was that he was wiser than God, and that he knew how to use the power more wisely, therefore he should be God and God Almighty should be his servant. That’s why in the verse before (Eze. 28:2), he says, “I am a God.” That’s his claim; his boast.”

Paul also tells us in Eph. 1 that the basic issue in the angelic conflict today is the issue of wisdom. I Cor. 3:19 says God “taketh the wise in their own craftiness.”

“The most shocked creature in all the universe when he first learned about the information Jesus Christ revealed through the Apostle Paul was Satan himself, and ever since that moment Satan’s one aim in life has been to keep a lid on it and keep it secret—don’t let anybody else know about it,” says Jordan. “Paul says in Col. 2:15 that Christ made a show of them openly. He held them up to open shame. The Cross is the thing that destroys all of the works of the devil and his angels.

“The Cross is the thing that completely puts away sin, and when Satan danced a jig on the coffin lid of the Lord Jesus Christ, and proclaimed to his host that they had won the victory, that victory turned into fright three days later, and even more so a year later when Jesus Christ revealed the accomplishments of that Cross through Paul. The Cross is the focal point of the wisdom of God.

“Can you understand why Satan wants to keep it hid? It’s embarrassing to him! And as you and I go out and manifest it, what are we doing? Taking the crafty in their own craftiness. God just kept a secret, saying to Satan, ‘Okay, Big Shot, if there’s no secret that can be kept from you—if you can figure out anything that ever happens and you can always be right and never be fooled—I’ll tell you what I’m going to do, but I’ll keep it a secret about how I’m going to get it accomplished.’ And Satan did the very thing that accomplished his own defeat and the victory of Jesus Christ.

“All God had to do to bring to naught all of Satan’s ‘wise plans’ was just not tell him something, and he couldn’t figure it out on his own, and was so deceived he went ahead and did the very thing that ends up in his own destruction.”

From back before the foundation of the world in eternity past, God purposed in Himself to one day gather all things, both in the heavens and the earth, under the headship of His Son and make Him the center of everything.

Satan thought since his angels had control over the heavens through the rebellion he created up there, all he needed to do was kill Christ to secure control over the earth and heavens.

What he didn’t count on, though, was the death and subsequent resurrection of Christ making it possible for anyone—Jew and Gentile—who just believed in Christ’s accomplishments through that death to gain a position of control in the heavens.

Paul tells us the Body of Christ will one day fill up the heavens and run the government of it, and that Satan never dreamed of this scenario.

“The Body of Christ today is a living demonstration of how God is going to take and unite two totally diverse realms—heaven and earth—under one head,” says Jordan. “Jews and Gentiles together in one Body. Could there be anything more diverse in the Bible?

God said about Israel they are never to be reckoned among the Gentiles: ‘They are a separate people holy unto Me. I’ve made them that way. Two completely diverse entities.’

“The way the angels learn about this new Body is seeing the ‘fellowship of the mystery.’ Paul says in Romans 8:15, ‘But ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.’ We’re joint heirs! I mean, we Gentiles have been made members of the immediate family of God!

“The only person who ever addresses God the Father as ‘Abba, Father’ is Jesus Christ and we have the same relationship with God that Christ does! It’s that intimate family relationship and angels don’t know anything about being a part of the immediate family of God.

“They’re part of the creation, but to be in His immediate family and sit at His table and call Him ‘Daddy,’ well, they’re looking at us saying, ‘What is that?!’ That’s the wisdom of God through the Cross that Satan never imagined!”

As Paul stresses in I Cor. 6:2, “Know ye not that we shall judge angels? how much more things that pertain to this life?”

What he’s telling the Believer is that we’re going to administer over the affairs of the angelic creation one day, so it’s a total waste of time not to “put on Christ” (Gal. 3:27), just like you’d put on a coat to cover yourself.

“Don’t waste your time trying to define yourself by your failures; that’s not the way God defines you today!” says Jordan. “We participate in His authority in the governments of the heaven. That’s what the fellowship of the mystery is all about.

“The angels are watching us and taking notes. They don’t understand what we know, and when you don’t know it, they don’t understand you not knowing it. I expect if they could speak to you they’d say, ‘C’mon, WAKE UP! Go learn the doctrine so you can teach it to me! What are you wasting your time out there in the world for?! What are you wasting your time trying to be in the wrong program (designed for Israel in time past) for? Get on with it!’

“You see the job that God called the Body of Christ to do impacts the heavens today as well as in the future. Satan’s using his wisdom to try and keep a lid on it. Satan is just tricky enough, wily enough, smart enough, cagy enough to keep conning his host into believing he’s going to win. Don’t let your life be an encouragement to his cause!”
