Earlier this month, the winners of the contest to name the Ònew seven wonders of the worldÓ were released. Both Machu Picchu, Peru and Pyramid At Chichen Itza, Mexico made the cut.

The summary description for Machu Picchu given in an Associated Press wire article read: ÒBuilt by the Incan Empire in the 15th century, the giant walls, palaces, temples and dwellings of the Machu Picchu sanctuary are perched in the clouds at 8,000 feet above sea level in the Andes mountains. It remains a mystery how the huge stones were moved into place for the construction of the remote city.Ó

The summary for Chichen Itza read: ÒThis step-pyramid surmounted by a temple survives from a sacred site that was part of one of the greatest Mayan centers of MexicoÕs Yucatan peninsula. Built according to the solar calendar, it is placed so that shadows cast at the fall and spring equinoxes are said to look like a snake crawling down the steps, similar to the carved serpent at the top

Obviously both these ÒwondersÓ are pure satanic-inspired masterpieces that hearken back to Babel and represent the ongoing legacy of Baal worship.

As Jordan says in an old study on this same subject, ÒYou look at the Incas and the Aztecs and they always got those steps that go way, way up there to offer the sacrifices on top. Now, you didnÕt think they invented that, did you? It goes all the way back to Genesis 11.

ÒIf you want a book thatÕll scare the daylights out of you, read The Two Babylons by Alexander Hislop. Hislop does first-hand, original research in the Orient, and in the Middle East, and in Babylon, and in Egypt and Persia. He doesnÕt take anybodyÕs word for any of it; he goes right over there where these people were and he traces it all back.

ÒAnd he says thereÕs a Babylon back there, and thereÕs one in Revelation 17, and thereÕs an unbroken string of religious tradition from Genesis to the Antichrist. In the Bible, itÕs called ÔBaal worship.Õ

ÒWhen I read that book by Hislop 20 years ago, I remember thinking, ÔThis scares me because that looks just like what I see in the Bible!Õ

ÒFrom HislopÕs book, you find out that a lot of the religious traditions people think so much of—Halloween, Easter, Christmas, All Saints Day—were practiced 2,000 years before Christ!

ÒYou want to see the Madonna and the child? HeÕs got pictures of wood cuttings from it that date 1,500 years before Christ that were being worshipped in Egypt!

ÒWhen Paul says, ÔFlee from idolatry,Õ thatÕs what heÕs talking about. He isnÕt talking about some dude sitting next door to you with a little Buddha stuck in his flower bed for an ornament. HeÕs talking about this stuff. ThatÕs what the Bible calls idolatry—Baal worship.

ÒWhat Satan does to destroy nationalism is No. 1, he promotes internationalism; one city to reign over all of the cities where weÕll all be together with one language, and one tongue, one world government and a one-world religion. Ecumenicalism and nationalism are the two things Satan uses in his policy of evil the nations.

ÒNow, when I was a kid they used to have a cartoon with this little cat sitting on the Ark, and it was raining and they began to sing this song, ÔOh, it ainÕt gonna rain no more no more, it ainÕt gonna rain no more. What in the world do the old folks know, it ainÕt gonna rain no more no more.Õ

ÒI used to think, ÔWhat in the world is all that?! Put Popeye back on!Õ But youÕd see them start building this tower like Jack in the Beanstalk—one thatÕd just go forever—and these birds would be flying all around.

ÒAnd the idea is itÕd just get waaay, waaay out there until it almost got to GodÕs house, and God would say, ÔI donÕt want you out here,Õ and itÕd be ÔWhap! Knock it all down.Õ

ÒBut that ainÕt what this (Babel worship concept) is about at all. ItÕs not about building a tower that reaches 80-90 miles or 16 hundred thousand miles out into the atmosphere. Nimrod said, ÔWe want to have us a city and a tower. We want to have a distinct political entity like Cain built back in Genesis 4.Õ

ÒGod had sent Cain out into the earth and said, ÔYouÕre to be a vagabond. YouÕre to wander and youÕre not going to be able to live in one place.Õ But Cain went out and whatÕd he do? He lived in the land of Nod and built a city. What do you do in a city? You live in it. He built a great, earthen metropolitan area—a metropolis—in absolute rebellion to Almighty God.Ó
