Well, nothing happened on 7-7-07 that I could see made any difference.

In case you didnÕt know, this past Saturday represented the culmination of a 40-day fast for perhaps Òtens of thousandsÓ of Christians around the country who responded to the plea to Òbreak the 40-year curse on our country.Ó

ÒBeginning the evening of May 28, we are calling two generations to 40 days of fasting and prayer culminating on 7-7-07, the perfection of time, in a massive national gathering of fasting, intercession, repentance and worship, declaring we want to remarry the Lord. . . we want to cross over into the promise land of national revival,Ó read the press release put out in May by the ministries of Lou Engle, responsible for similarly gathering 400,000 people in Wash., D.C. in 2000 to pray and fast for the United States.

For time immemorial, American Christian ÒleadersÓ—whether theological seminarians, televangelists or denominational preachers—have trotted out in vain this ancient promise from God to Israel in II Chronicles 7:14 due to their total ignorance of the BibleÕs dispensational design:

ÒIf my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land

By the way, the number forty in the Bible is the number of testing. Israel was stuck in the wilderness forty years. Eli judged Israel for forty years, as did Samuel. Saul was king of Israel forty years. David ruled Israel forty years and then Solomon did for another forty. Moses, Elijah and Christ all fasted forty days. Ezekiel took on a forty-day prayer assignment.

The easiest way you know a Christian ÒleaderÓ doesnÕt get the Bible is if he thinks any mention of baptism in it is synonymous with water.

ÒYouÕre taught by denominational traditions that every time you see that word baptize itÕs a water rite but itÕs not,Ó explains Jordan. ÒHow did Israel get baptized, for example? Well, it says they were baptized in the Red Sea. But how many Israelites got wet in the Red Sea? None of them. Who got wet? Pharaoh and his army were drowned. God destroyed them with the water but all of Israel went over on dry land.

ÒSo here, the first baptism identified in the Bible is a non-water rite. ItÕs a dry baptism. There are at least twelve different kinds of baptisms in the Bible, many of which have nothing to do with water.

ÒThe one that identified Israel under the leadership of Moses was a dry baptism and that was the birthday of the nation Israel. Moses was the great lawgiver to Israel; he was GodÕs spokesman to these people. When Moses spoke, it was God speaking, because he gave them GodÕs Word to them.Ó

A great passage from Psalm 99 verifying the resurrection of all Old Testament saints actually has Moses, Aaron and Samuel gathered together calling upon the Lord, who answers them Óin the cloudy pillar.Ó

Jordan says, ÒSamuel lived hundreds of years after Moses and Aaron (passed away) and yet here we see theyÕre all there at the same time talking to the Lord. Now, when can that happen? ThereÕs going to be a resurrection, folks. This entourage—the reason thereÕs all these different statuses of people, either in the kingÕs family or the gentiles, is because all of the Old Testament saints, from Adam to Moses and into the tribulation, are going to be resurrected.Ó

As Jesus Christ assures in Matthew 8:11, ÒAnd I say unto you, That many shall come from the east and west, and shall sit down with Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, in the kingdom of heaven.Ó

Jordan says, ÒAbraham never met Jacob; he was dead years before Jacob was born, but theyÕre going to be resurrected. . . At this inauguration day of His kingdom, He says, ÔCome forth!Õ and up they come. TheyÕre just going into the party; theyÕre going into the coronation.Ó

Paul says in Romans 1:14 that heÕs Òa debtor both to the Greeks, and to the Barbarians; both to the wise, and to the unwise.Ó

Jordan explains, ÒThatÕs a debt to love heÕs talking about. You know, love puts claims on your life that the law never could. Love is a motivator; itÕs something that reaches into your heart and motivates you internally to do something that no external compulsion could do. You could write all the laws you want in the books of the City of Chicago that a mother must take care of her child and it wonÕt motivate them to take care of their child just to keep from getting the wrath of the law.Ó
