Don Imus could probably appreciate this:
the Hebrew word ho
is interpreted ÒwoeÓ in 36 Old Testament scriptures.
ÒBut
ho does
not necessarily mean Ôwoe,Õ Ó writes author Noah Hutchings in his 2003 book Revelation
for Today.
ÒIt could mean anything from Ôhave a nice dayÕ to Ôgo jump in the lake.Õ Ó

On
the subject of demon exorcisms, Jordan once reasoned: ÒIf you had the ability
to call the power of Almighty God against a demon, you know whatÕd happen? The
demon would flee. It wouldnÕt take him five hours of conversation with you. You
see, these guys who talk about throwing demons out after a big exorcism, theyÕre
pulling your leg.
ItÕs got nothing to do with anything.Ó

Ever
hear about someone in the hospital with a bunch of broken bones, etc., from a
bad accident giving credit to an angel for saving their life?
Jordan
says about these kinds of ill-informed imaginations, ÒDavid knew something
about angels and he said when they act, the job gets done. ItÕs none of this
half-way, ÔI wonder if it was; I wonder if it wasnÕt.Õ
ÒIn
I Kings 19, ElijahÕs sitting on the creek bank out there after the problem with
Baal and all and the angels bring him the food. Folks, they just spread the
table out there and fed the guy. It wasnÕt a half-way doing it.
ÒLet
me give you an illustration of when an angel gets worked up to do something.
Isaiah 37:36 says, ÔThen the angel of the LORD went forth, and smote in the
camp of the Assyrians a hundred and fourscore and five thousand: and when they
arose early in the morning, behold, they were all dead corpses.Õ
ÒThis
is in HezekiahÕs day and deals with the deliverance God gave Israel. That
angel bumped off 185,000 soldiers in one night and was home in bed before the
sun came up. It
says, ÔAnd when they arose early in the morning, behold, they were all dead
corpses.Õ You ever seen another kind of corpse? I mean, thatÕs emphasis,
brother! ThatÕs Ôdying you shall die.Õ
ÒIf
it took only one angel to wipe out that many people in one night, and he did it
by himself, and he did it quickly and it didnÕt take all night, imagine how
many angels there are out there and what they could do!
ÒIs
it any wonder in Matthew 25: 31 it says, ÔWhen the Son of man shall come in his
glory, and all the holy angels with him.Õ Revelation 19 talks about Christ
coming back and being followed by the armies of heaven.
ÒThe
angelic armies of heaven come back with Him to set this universe right at His
Second Advent. And one angel could take care of that many guys in one evening.
You think, ÔWow, these guys have might and strength and power and ability!Õ Ó

One
of the Bible verses that tells you angels are young in appearance is Mark 16:4.
Jesus Christ is resurrected from the dead and when the women come to His empty
tomb it says Ôthey saw a young man sitting on the right side, clothed in a long
white garment; and they were affrighted.Õ
Jordan
says, ÒThis guyÕs at least 4,000 years old and yet heÕs a Ôyoung man.Õ ItÕs
talking appearance and notice it doesnÕt say the Ôyoung woman.Õ Pictures of
angels depict them as long-haired women in flowing robes with wings on, but
thatÕs not what an angel looks like. And if you ever see one of them things,
run!
ÒIn
Revelation 9, the demons are in their degenerated form . . . theyÕre the ones
with the long hair and the womanÕs face. Angels donÕt have wings either, folks.
Cherubim have wings. Seraphim have wings. But angels donÕt.
ÒYou
say how do they fly? Well, folks, wings arenÕt going to make you fly out there
where thereÕs no atmosphere. All the pictures you see of little angels with
wings—what they really are are pictures of the devil. Satan is a cherub
and cherub have wings.Ó
