Just as Adam and Eve wore no garments
before they Òfell,Ó but were clothed in light, Lucifer was covered with Òevery
precious stoneÓ—sardius, topaz, diamond, beryl, onyx, jasper, sapphire,
emerald, carbuncle and gold.
ÒThis guy was the original
jewel collector,Ó says Jordan. ÒThose stones had to do with that issue of light
and prisms and multi-colored facets; he was a light-bearer.
ÒThe uniform of the godhead
was a garment of light, but it was not a white glowing light; we know from Ezekiel
1that the appearance of the glory of God is like a rainbow. ThatÕs refracted
light bent with all the colors. When you understand that, you understand why
Jacob gave the coat of many colors to Joseph.Ó

When God called the nation
Israel out of Egypt, Moses and the children of Israel sang a song unto the LORD
Òand spake, saying, I will sing unto the LORD, for he hath triumphed
gloriously: the horse and his rider hath he thrown into the sea.Ó (Exodus 15:1)
ÒThe whole theme of the music
was what God was doing and what He was doing for Himself and how HeÕs was using
them to accomplish His glory,Ó says Jordan. ÒIt wasnÕt about them. It wasnÕt
about whatÕs He doing for me and what am I getting out of it. ItÕs, ÔLook at what HEÕs doing! And how HEÕs working
in us to accomplish HIS glory!Õ
ÒYouÕll notice, too, you
donÕt see a tune in there anywhere. Now, musicÕs about the tune. ThereÕs three
parts to the grammar of music—the melody, the harmony and the rhythm—
but you canÕt find any of
that in this passage, can you?
ÒWhat do you find here? You
find the words because words are important. But, listen, the music that carries
the words is designed to impact your spirit, your soul and your body.
ÒThe language of music is
designed to take the words youÕre singing and put them in control of your
spirit, your soul and your body. And, friends, your emotions make you
vulnerable because they get you focused on the feeling side rather than the
thinking side, and the doctrine side.
ÒLook at verses 20 and 21:
ÔAnd Miriam the prophetess, the sister of Aaron, took a timbrel in her hand;
and all the women went out after her with timbrels and with dances. And Miriam
answered them, Sing ye to the LORD, for he hath triumphed gloriously; the horse
and his rider hath he thrown into the sea.Õ
ÒTheyÕre singing, ÔHeÕs given
us victory over Satan!Õ And, actually, that whole passage carries you all the
way to the Second Coming of Christ and the kingdom if you look back at verses
17 and 18: ÔThou shalt bring them in, and plant them in the mountain of thine
inheritance, in the place, O LORD, which thou hast made for thee to dwell in,
in the Sanctuary, O Lord, which thy hands have established. The LORD shall
reign for ever and ever.Õ
ÒPeople will look at
(MiriamÕs reaction) and say, ÔWell, looky there, Brother Rick, you just said
the emotions affect you.Õ Let me ask you, the last dance you went to, was that
what they were singing at the dance?
ÒI was at a place just the
other night where the people were gyrating on the dance floor, but they werenÕt
gyrating around like that, and there wasnÕt anybody out there singing GodÕs
praises and saying, ÔGlory to God; HeÕs caused us to triumph gloriously!Õ
ÒBy the way, one day God
will restore dance back to its original purpose, which was what? Physical
expression of the joy brought on by singing praises to God. ItÕs not mindless
boogeying down a church aisle, and shaking whatever you have around so you can go
home feeling like youÕve been to an exercise class.Ó

In Exodus 32, when Moses is
up on the mountaintop 40 days and the nation IsraelÕs down at the bottom thinking
heÕs not coming back, music accompanied their debauchery in building the golden
calf, etc.
Jordan explains, ÒMoses comes
back down, and in verse 17, when Joshua heard the noise of the people as they
shouted, he said to Moses, ÔThereÕs the noise of war in the camp. TheyÕre
fighting. Listen to that racket.Õ But Moses says, ÔNo, no, no.Õ You see Moses
was raised in Egypt. He knew the culture that he and Israel just came out of.
ÒMoses said, ÔThatÕs not war
youÕre hearing, but itÕs the noise of them that sing do I hear.Õ Now imagine
music and singing sounding like a battle of war.
ÒIsrael had that quickly
degenerated music into the noise of the Egyptian culture. In verse 25, it says,
ÔAnd when Moses saw that the people were naked.Õ DonÕt you kid yourself for two
seconds, thatÕs what the music of the world is about.
ÒWhen he says they were
naked, that wasnÕt a good thing. That music they were singing to was nothing
but sex music. And the activities, and the gyrations, were associated with
people getting their clothes off and thereÕs not really but one reason you take
your clothes off, folks, in mixed company.
ÒThink about in Matthew 14 when
John the Baptist loses his head. You know how come he lost his head? The guy
who took it off was being entertained by a belly dancer. You see, thereÕs a lot
of strange things in the Bible that when you take them home with you, itÕs what
the BibleÕs talking about.Ó
