Think about
this: God had an architectural blueprint drawn up when He created the earth and
it was crafted by His personified co-partner that He Himself calls ÔwisdomÕ!
As my
pastor, Richard Jordan, explains it, ÒProverbs 8: 22 is one of the most
fascinating passages in Bible about creation, and the person behind it is not
really a person! ItÕs this scheme of wisdom God has personified!Ó
Wisdom is
actually quoted in Proverbs testifying, ÒThe LORD possessed me in the beginning
of his way, before his works of old.
[23] I was set up from everlasting,
from the beginning, or ever the earth was.
[24] When there
were no depths, I was brought forth; when there were no fountains abounding
with water.
[25] Before the
mountains were settled, before the hills was I brought forth:
[26] While as
yet he had not made the earth, nor the fields, nor the highest part of the dust
of the world.
[27] When he
prepared the heavens, I was there: when he set a compass upon the face of the
depth:
[28] When he
established the clouds above: when he strengthened the fountains of the deep:
[29] When he
gave to the sea his decree, that the waters should not pass his commandment:
when he appointed the foundations of the earth:
[30] Then I was
by him, as one brought up with him: and I was daily his delight, rejoicing
always before him;
[31] Rejoicing
in the habitable part of his earth; and my delights were with the sons of men.
[32] Now
therefore hearken unto me, O ye children: for blessed are they that keep my
ways.
[33] Hear
instruction, and be wise, and refuse it not.
[34] Blessed is
the man that heareth me, watching daily at my gates, waiting at the posts of my
doors.
[35] For whoso
findeth me findeth life, and shall obtain favour of the LORD.
[36] But he
that sinneth against me wrongeth his own soul: all they that hate me love death.Ó
Jordan
explains, ÒBefore God created anything, wisdom was brought forth. It was
established; it was set up. When you set something up, you build it. You
construct it. Wisdom literally put together this plan before God created
anything so that when He created, He created it according to the plan.Ó
In Genesis
1 it says that when God created everything, He looked back at exactly what He
did and exclaimed, ÒIt is good!Ó
ÒHeÕd look
at it and say, ÔWow, thatÕs just right!Õ Ó says Jordan. ÒAnd wisdom would say, ÔYou
know what, I was by Him; I was with Him every day! Everywhere He went He took
me! I went with Him and He had me right by Him.Õ
ÒGod said, ÔOh,
I love it when a plan comes together,Õ and He called that plan ÔwisdomÕ. You
know what the Bible says about that Book? ÔItÕs settled in heaven forever.Õ
ÒNow I
donÕt know about you, but I bet that if you couldÕve taken the book God had and
held it up on its binding, it would have said— KJV. What IÕm saying is if I could have
read the one He had in my language, thatÕs what it would have said. My point to you
is, He had a Book. He had a plan, and for you and me that planÕs been laid out.Ó
In Isaiah
40:20, God chides the nation Israel, reminding them, ÒHave ye not known? have
ye not heard? hath it not been told you from the beginning? have ye not
understood from the foundations of the earth?
[22] It is he
that sitteth upon the circle of the earth, and the inhabitants thereof are as
grasshoppers; that stretcheth out the heavens as a curtain, and spreadeth them
out as a tent to dwell in:
[23] That
bringeth the princes to nothing; he maketh the judges of the earth as vanity.Ó
Jordan
explains, ÒThere are some things about creation that God has made known from
the beginning and that HeÕs told men from the foundation of the earth. From the
very beginning of the thing, there are some details about creation—and
what God was doing from the very first day—that GodÕs been telling people
about and that they should have known. The reason they would have known about
these things is because God told them about them in His Word!Ó
From what
God tells us Himself in the Book of Job (chapter 38), ÒIf science today doesnÕt
know it, it's because science is willingly ignorant. If people, and
philosophers and historians, don't know it, it's because they're willingly
ignorant. From the beginning of creation, IÕve been declaring my purpose.Ó
Jordan
explains, ÒThe Lord answered Job out of the whirlwind and basically said, ÔWho
is this running off at the mouth, talking about stuff they donÕt know anything
about and making people not know whatÕs going on?!Õ Now, you could say that about
the average pulpit today—certainly with the majority of TV and radio
programs that profess to be teaching the Word of God!Ó
